One of our customers made me a couple of wooden gear knobs for the defenders. Mahogany for the 90 and Redwood for the 110. They came out amazingly Bow down

They look awesome, would be tempted by a set for mine but the x eng gear stick lock would destroy the top of the transfer box knob and ocd wouldn’t let me have different ones

Side effect of the new knobs - smoother gear change. As the new ones have a large steel insert they have more mass, the increased inertia when changing gears definitely seems to make for a nicer change.

In other news, this week I will be mostly camping. Have borrowed my sisters caravan for a week away in Dorset.

I have done some pretty aggressive braking to see how things behave in emergency conditions but I haven't had to use them in an emergency.

It stops perfectly, very straight and the braking power is immense! Having 110 rear calipers on my 90 probably helps with that too Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Thanks Clayton Thumbs Up I haven't really thought about the old ones. I may as well keep them tucked away - just in case Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
