Have you checked the part number to see if it has the G at the start? If so it's a genuine part reboxed. There is other codes for other manufacturers, not just Brito art specials. North Cumbria Search and Rescue - Team Leader

"G" at the end indicates a part made by an OE supplier

I know what you refer to but no, not in this case...
The part is very 'Defendery' in that it has 'Defender' written on it on the genuine article. Website said genuine - which is why I bought it! No such lettering here ![]() Last edited by agentmulder on 8th Nov 2016 12:45pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Hello
I never heard back from Paddock regarding my 'Wipac headlights....' I'm happy so far as they are way better than what I had, and I quite like the addition of the side light built into the headlamp. NOT what I ordered though !! ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Thought it was common knowledge "Britpart" also make many of the OE parts, have done for some time. It,s an ongoing problem and why the dealers send so many parts back.

No, Britpart do not make parts for Land Rover. Britpart parts might be sold by LR dealers alongside genuine LR parts, but that's not the same thing.

Pretty sure some parts are made by certain companies in China, India etc and the same parts are distributed to Britpart and some to Land Rover.

This happened to me, but with Rimmer Bros. Ordered Wipac Crystals, got the Britpart ones with built in sidelights. They looked decent quality so I kept them. Should have queried it really. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Site has got back to me promptly.
Sorting through the issues, discount on the way for one part. Discussions under way on another. Also found some balljoints didn't come as an 'assembly' as advertised and photographed. Now have to source my own castellated nuts. I feel like I'm a beta tester on their ever changing website. I rate them highly, but this latest situation is taking its toll. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

Emails now are getting long and sheesh, I feel like I'm too picky sometimes, but dang it, it just aint cricket! While I've agreed to some things being fine (Britpart front mudflaps actually do seem like an OK product). one part really is sticking in my mind as being unacceptable.
Anyway, so progress made, they will send one down to me free, I'll sell the BP one and return the money to them when that happens. Small chance they could make money from it ![]() ![]() Big element of trust from their perspective I guess. I'm in two minds about naming the company as even though I have what appears to be a successful resolution, I don't want the company name associated with a thread that started negatively. We'll see. Here in Germany we have a law that allows you to send back anything you buy online within 14 days after arrival. Don't need to state a reason and if it's over 40€ you don't even have to pay the return postage. So no need for any discussions and a motivation for the reseller to send the products that were advertised... How's that in the UK?

We have similar distance selling regulations here. We're just too British to use them
