What part is it?

I took a punt using a Britpart sump gasket the other day, hope it doesn't leak soon, so far so good though.

I have to say I had a Bearmach oil cooler hose and a Britpart hose, both same part numbers, both brand new..

The Bearmach part wasn't even the right diameter and wouldn't fit into the engione!!!! Threw that crap in the bin.

I have thrown lots of Blue junk in the bin too, though.

Genuine part arrived today.

Thumbs Up

Says 'Made in Sweden' on it, which is contrary to the advice of the seller that the parts were made in the Britpart supplier factory near him. I genuinely believe he thinks that though, no BS involved.

Succesful resolution in that regard. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

Take care with suppliers using G at the end of the part number or OE or OEM as its not guarantee that you are receiving exactly the same part that is current for Land Rover. You may be getting a part that was once used by LR and superseded or you may be getting a part from a manufacturer that supplies other parts to Land Rover but not specifically the part you have ordered. I also believe that some of the suppliers buy such large batches from the manufacturers that they can request some variation in the quality of the component parts and still then say they are from an OEM supplier.

I am not saying every cheaper part will not fit correctly or work correctly so don't need examples of people who have fitted something in a blue box 5 years ago and its still fine - I am just saying that care should be taken to verify the quality of what you are buying. 1995 300tdi Defender 90 P/UP

This supplier appeared convinced that a part sent was from the same factory local to him, just minus the LR branding.

Genuine had 'Made In Sweden' stabled prominently on its backside Rolling Eyes.

I've decided he was genuine himself in that belief though Thumbs Up Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
