On the topic of numbers did you check rotor run out?

Mine was nothing, which was nice because if it were overspec I'd have no dang idea what to do about it. Rotor was seated, bolts were torqued...

Haha yeah or a thermal imaging camera mounted to a drone if you were really pushing the boat out. Laughing

To be honest, if you cant hold the back of your hand/fingers against it comfortably for about 10 seconds it is probably fine.

If its the same as an untouched wheel- the more the merrier Very Happy

If its far too hot to touch -something is very wrong. Usualy you can smell hot bearings before you can see them!

From the sounds of things though all will be well!

One thing to think of though if you are running odd wheels. Make sure your tyre diameters are the same or very similar, your diff wont like it if they are a long way out!

I have uploaded everything and will start filling it in tomorrow lunchtime at work Thumbs Up Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

I did indeed and the run out was negligible.

If it is out sadly only thing you can do is disassemble it, unbolt the rotor from the hub, rotate it 90ish degrees and then re-bolt it and go through it again.

Its a bit of a pain but I have never had it happen to me thankfully. Usually only a problem if putting half warn rotors back Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

I was going to do a thread also!

Sure will be interesting comparing experiences.

I wonder if we'll contradict each other in true internet forum fashion - heh heh - especially if both of us report success Smile

All good either way I say, but the amount of info out there already at cross purposes - sheesh! Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

Haha, welcome to the internet, were everyone is an engineer and actually no your wrong because...... Rolling Eyes Laughing

Nah its all good I am a firm believer that knowledge is best shared.

Besides looks like you have done the rears where I did the fronts so they are somewhat different. Plus mine has got a fair few years degradation and other owners "fixes" so has probably got a few more quirks than yours.

Will be good to compare and contrast notes Thumbs Up

Plus its good there are pictorial maintenance jobs on the forum, it helps people to understand what is going on inside and get people enthused into doing more for themselves.

Knowledge is power! Very Happy Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197
