Scotland 2016 Defender 110 Other XS CSW Auto Santorini Black
Meet Cedric.. 110 TD5 Station Wagon
Hello,

I've been lurking for a little while, gaining inspiration from the the amazing build treads. I'd always wanted a Defender and after moving to the bottom of South Lanarkshire, bordering the Scottish borders district, I finally had an excuse (winter flooding and snow). This is my very first Land Rover and I absolutely love it!

I eventually found a Defender TD5 Station Wagon 110 that was in pre-build phase at Phoenix Defenders in Bathgate and convinced Romano that I'd like to buy it and have him finish it for me with my requirements.

So, its painted in Austin Rover British Racing Green, with gloss black roof and wheel arches. The interior is refitted and re-covered in grey vinyl, with rear bench seats, middle row re-covered and 2 new TD5 front seats and cubby box from Exmoor trim.

As far as mods go, I ended up with (for now Smile)

Britpart Santorini Gloss Black Grill and Head Lamp Surrounds
Wipac LED side, repeater and tail light kit
Wipac Head lights with Horizon LED H4 GEN 5 ZES LUXEON LUMILED Light Fittings (High beam = 4000 Lumens)
Durite (x2) LED Flood Light bars (6 x 10W CREE LED 4200 lumens mounted on front bumper)
Durite 9x3W LED Rear Work Lamp
KBX Hi-force wing grills - Gloss Black
KBX mesh intake grill - Gloss Black
    Bearmach side steps
Land Rover 16" Boost Wheels in Gloss Black
    Cooper Discoverer A/T3 Tyres
    Flatdog steering guard (in black)
Britpart swing away spare wheel carrier
    Mudstuff Blind Spot Mirrors
All new door hinges, resprayed in black
    Mudstuff LED number plate light
    Reversing Camera
    Flexible Radio Antenna
    Mudstuff Mud Defender Console
Pioneer AVID-980DAB BT Double Din head unit configured for Apple Carplay, Reversing Camera, European Navigation, Handsfree phone, DAB+ radio (including a powered Radio Antenna DAB+ / analog radio antenna splitter)
    Mudstuff LED interior lamps
    DefenderDemister vents
    Britpart Front drop-in mats
Land Rover Intermediate Row drop-in mat
    Pioneer rear speakers
Rockford Fosgate front Speakers with stand alone tweeters

It also has a salisbury rear differential, which I'm not sure is standard or not on a 2001 TD5 Station Wagon 110?

They are quite good. They fit if speaker standoff rings are added for the depth. Without a sub the sound is all midrange and top end, but its fine in a noisy Defender.

Yes. It's proving quite effective. The head unit in the dash display includes a set of user configurable guidelines that you can lengthen or shorten to add a sense of scale for parallel parking. Obviously the tow bar and spare wheel stick out so you can add a bit to the red zone.

How do you find the Durite LED's on the front? Quite fancy a set for mine. They seem good value compared to other makes.

They are excellent. Very bright and of course water proof. They also dissipate heat well, since the enclosures have well define cooling fins for the DC converters.
