I'll bet the clutch is on the way out.

Our 300tdi had the same problems, thought it was the gearbox but a new clutch transformed it.

mine does it. just take your time especially when cold 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)
2009 - current .... 2005 zx10r

06 model , the same . blip the throttle as if you are double de clutching, I blip the throttle now before every gear change, just reminds me of my first truck , a 54 series 1)) or get used to making a slow change , seems to help the syncro's . Reverse sometimes seems to stick in gear , but only for a fraction of a second, just seems standard on this model box, just don't rush it, ours been like it from new.

Somewhere I did read about a oil that was supposed to help with these problems, thinks the DIFFLOCK site had info on this

So I hear back from the dealership that they couldn't really find much of a problem with the gear changing, "it's just normal for that age and model but we have decided to replace the clutch" ...... I just hope they don't just stick in a used clutch.

I don't think they will put a used clutch in....after all, they'd have to take it all apart again if it didn't work properly. A new clutch is not expensive.
