Another one who never shuts up is Eddie Izzard I caught him on question time last night, thank god someone in the audience shouted at him to ‘Shut Up’ and that shout got the biggest applause of the evening.

I have to say in his thickly applied makeup, pink beret and oversized glasses at first I thought it was Sue Pollard, and I though what is she doing on question time as a panellist.

One other point is that if he let others speak he might learn something, such as what a buffoon he is. And does he not have a mirror, he can’t have, I mean let’s face it, no normal person would be seen out in public looking as Izzard did last night let alone go on TV looking like that. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

The fact that the loathesome and unfunny* Mr Izzard is imploring people to vote "in" is in itself a good reason to vote out in my view!

* "loathsome and unfunny" is of course a personal opinion and I realise that there are many people who do, inexplicably, find him/her/it (?) both likeable and funny.

I quite agree that there are bad and good sorts in every walk of life, I wasn't suggesting there are a greater proportion of them in higher class echelons of society - its just that they probably have a greater opportunity in more powerful positions to take advantage of it and it is highlighted more when it happens Very Happy

At the risk of going off topic, you'll never get my agreement re bankers bonuses though! The whole incentive system in banks is wrong - we'll pay you loads for being ultra-aggressive risk takers and when it works, you'll get mega rich, and when it fails the economy will go down the pan but you'll still get to keep all your bonuses from previous years. Whistle

Most of my views on life are from experience rather than media spin Thumbs Up

Don't forget that the financial sector employs over 1m people who are normally referred to as bankers. The vast majority, 75% work in retail banking (My wife was one), with the remainder divided between accountants, investment banks, hedge funds etc. The retail sector doesn't invest with the same vigour as the investment banks and hedge funds, so if your money is not invested with them, you should be safe. Those that do invest know the risks, but very much want the aggressive risk takers because they know the benefits they may gain from that very risk taking. High stakes, but high rewards and it takes a select individual to succeed at it. But the investors will be using the (very large amounts of) disposable income they have available as HNW or UHNW individuals. Most bankers are normal, honest, hard working individuals. My wife was a perfect example of this, as were all her colleagues and friends and having them tarred with the same brush over the past 8 years has been hard work. Estate agents on the other hand (as Languedoc and I are), wouldn't trust them as far as you could throw them with your barge pole. Is that the correct metaphor? Can't see the point in it, neither do the majority of the Aussie financial media.
Some people advocate change just for the sake of it,..gotta be better, because we won't have this, we won't have that,...but these people invariably forget some of the positive things that they DO have now, which they WON'T have in the future.
I say, "NO".

Sorry I missed this post when it started.

Whomever said the EU has kept Europe conflict free for 70 years...2 or 3rd post...uh, that was NATO.

Remarking that foreigners (Non-UK) were getting benefits was called "racist". WTF?

I am not UK or EU citizen. My opinion is just that, opinion.

That said, I was and am all for BREXIT. This is a chance for the UK to get their national identity back, and to actually decide the path of the country. I am stunned by the Euros I speak with who state that the "nation-state" idea has past its shelf life.

Interesting side note: a work associate is from Czech Republic. He stated to me a few months ago "I grew up with Russia's boot on my country's neck...now it is Brussels".

For you Remain gents, I am sorry you will no longer have an unelected external body of non-UK individuals choosing your destiny.

Now to spend some USD on parts that have just gotten a lot less expensive.... 2013 110 - Keswick Green

As an outsider that values freedom and sovereignty I would have voted to leave the EU. I guess I can sort of empathize because in the US we have politicians from places like new york city and other progressive bastions that feel the need to impose their values on the rest of the country. They seek to change our culture of independence and individualism to a culture of collectivism and dependence on government. Furthermore their desire for new voters and cheap labor from countries with extreme religious views not compatible with our Constitution is an ongoing challenge for Americans.

Or it could be that the NUTTERS of the WORLD want us to leave. Think about that when you are weighing it up. I am at this time still undecided, but that last fact haunts me. The craziest people in power or about to gain power want us on our own. Why? It's not so we are undefended, we will still be in NATO. So what is it? Why is it a good thing for THEM?
That's what is going to keep me awake at night before I vote.

Agreed, this is what worries me as well.
