Hi Mike, On our red 110 and Disco we have Devon 4x4 winch bumpers. Well made but problem with them is that they are not galvanised before powder coating. Ours are rusting where the bumpers have done their job on walls/trees etc
The Safari Equip ones look Here They are galvanised and then powder coated. Have a bit of Safari Equip protection stuff on our vehicles and I like it. The Safari Equip ones come in under your budget. Also the Devon ones HTH Brendan PS Have seen some of the ebay specials ones, lets say that the welding on some looked like bird droppings and were painted PPS On red 110 have two Warn 9.5 XP. No contest,, See Goodwinch,,, One of their bumpers, and a TDS winch,, a good quality/valve package
Run one as a centre winch on the challenge truck,, works well, and overvolted  California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Cheers all. I'm going to replace my current one with a TDS. I also have a mate who wants one so if anyone else is in the market for one let me now asap as we're already getting a better price for two. Delivery will be to me in one go so it'd be pickup from Lancashire (PR5)

Warn is 2-3 times the cost though. If it was used daily then I'd probably go for a warn but its for occasional use so don't need warn quality

Look at most trucks on the challenge scene (where winches do get used hard and big money gets spent) and, with the exception of the ubiquitous 8274, you wont find a single Warn winch - you will however see plenty of TDS Goldfish and EP9's.

My mate who is buying another TDS for his new trayback very much knows his stuff and builds challenge trucks and competes. he said the same "TDS is the way forward, great quality, reliable"

I thought they used them as they were cheap to replace
Clearly not then
Still I think the 12000lbs powerplant is my way forward , Although its a Super winch for the Quad |
