Toothpaste and rear lights
OK so while off looking after no.2 child who is poorly I took my lights off last night. I've yet to decide which LED's to swap for so decided to clean up what I have


Toothpaste, then water, then scrub with old brush.... 10 mins each.

Then just rub the toothpaste in

next add water and old brush and rub the toothpaste in

Then I used a microfiber cloth to clean up.

Total time 10 mins a light, costs £0 as toothpaste was going out and old brush. Adds a bit of safety as light hopefully a little brighter. Did my front headlights also and other lights. Nice easy upgrade...

In hot countries this method is used for getting front headlights back to clear when they go all yellowy cloudy.

I guess it's just coz its a very fine cutting paste 2016 D4 HSE

Brasso is a much, much finer abrasive. I have used it for removing scratches from CDs in the past too.

Brushes ALWAYS cause scratches,use a cloth (micro fibre for the win).For a better finish.
..........You don't use microfibre clothes for washing dishes???You REALLY do need to get out more!!! Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Would also add,ALL plastic lenses always come with a UV protector.So a well polished LENS won't last long. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Hopefully I will make my mind up what to do regarding the LED 'lights' so this is only a stop gap...
