I've been looking for a solution to occasionally transport my Suzuki Bandit behind my 90 and have seen a dolly on Fleabay.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/151981830595 It seems reasonably priced and I like that it's easily fitted and removed and attaches to the tow ball rather than having a 2" receiver type towbar. Having just fitted a conventional NAS step and tow ball I don't really want the faff of changing it. So, the question is, does anyone have experience of using this type of dolly and do motorcycles tow well with it? firstly, after being in the bike trade for 38+ years I would say don't do it, use a trailer
safer, easier to control, and your bike gets there in the same condition as it set off in. if you insist on using a dolly first find out if your bike as a lift pump in the sump this tells you it relies on the engine running to lube the gearbox. towing the bike with the rear wheel on the floor will also spin the idle gears in the box, which wont be getting the correct lube. so I would advise if you insist on a dolly, removing the chain before you towing to stop this also you may find uneven wear to your rear tire, which, depending how far you tow, could result in affecting the handling of you bike. hope that helps barry |

A bit off at a tangent, but my mate uses one of these for his racebike, its very effective, and its beneficial if you are picking a bike up or dropping off...when you don't need it, you dismantle and drive normally.

Ideally a trailer would be great but storing it is an issue. Realistically, I wouldn't be towing the bike that many miles but it's handy to drag it along if I have to leave the 90 anywhere and need alternative transport to get around. 2015 90 XS CSW TDCi - Beautiful

Don't do it! Get a trailer. I bought mine from Dave Cooper in Kent.

No shares in anybody here but Russ says he's short of space and the MotoLug comes to bits without a spanner from memory and fits in the boot so they say and takes up relatively little space in the garage for sure.
