Headlight wiring loom upgrade
Hi, does anyone know if the wiring for headlights has changed recently? I'm trying to find out if the most recent Defenders actually have a relay in the lighting circuit or are still run straight through the headlight switch.

I've read about installing boomslang (and others) wiring looms to reduce the load on the headlight switch but am unsure if my 2015 D90 would benefit from this. Thanks chaps. -------------------------------

Hi Petronius I recently fitted a boomslang loom to my MY15 110. The reason for doing so was not so much to protect the light switch But to improve the headlamp light output. Not being a techie Im not sure whether there is a relay between the switch and light circuit, so fitting a loom for that purpose I am not sure about. Whate I do know is that there is a marked difference in the road illumination which is further improved by fitting some upgraded headlamp bulbs.
It may not answer your question directly, but it may help your decision.

No major changes to the headlamp circuit so fitting a loom and relay/s should prove to be of benefit. Steve.

I've fitted Trucklite LED headlamps to my 2015 Defender. As the LEDs draw less power, is there still a benefit to be had from fitting a boomslang headlight loom? [/u]
