The lamp is illuminated by the flasher relay when it detects a trailer lamp load. It's not calculated by the lamp cluster.

this is also typical for LED lights bulbs.
so its based on load for of a relay, wouldn't this be from standard tails lights?? the flasher would only have load on indicator use (is my assumption based ?) |

It uses the load from the indicators, not the tail lights.
