I'm looking at buying this 12 plate defender but I think these wheels are from a much older vehicle.

Thanks Andy Cheers Andy

1992 I think named as Tornado wheels which was later re-named Freestyles For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

They are Tornado wheels, available on 90s from mid 1990s through to about 2002 when the factory replaced them with Boosts.

Nothing wrong with them Whistle

I may be wrong but I thought Land Rover introduced them as an extra for the 200TDi in 1992 having already fitted them to the Discovery 1 For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I do actually really like them, I dropped a clanger by fitting military studs on my 90, which basically means I can't use ally wheel nuts. As I plan to have it as close to a NAS as possible (eventually) those wheels are exactly what I'd need.

I also like the 90 they are attached to Thumbs Up

if that's going to cost a fortune, there's a couple of sets of Boosts for sale each month in the for sale forum.

Be aware that they or rather the firestyle which looks the same were until recently available new from paddocks, in other words while the design is quite old the wheels may not be. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

My TD5 2001 HT County has those Freestyle wheels, so were a std/option at the time.

Nice wheels, but they are not the right age for a 2012 model.

cheers

Jaro, it does look good there, but I spent an afternoon with a machine polisher getting the bramble rash & scratches out... Evil or Very Mad It doesn't usually look that shiney..!

The colour is Oslo Blue (I know because Ive used a fair bit of paint touching up scratches etc...Wink) and its a great metallic colour.

What colour is the 90 you've ordered..? EDIT: just saw its Santorini... Embarassed

cheers

simon
