I seem to have something loose in my drive shaft somewhere or something. I'm not a mechanic.
Basically, when I release the clutch I feel a clunk and something is loose when I disengage the clutch. I can slowly release the clutch and minimize this though. Also, when I'm coming to a stop and the car is still in gear, it clunks again as if something isnt tight. Sometimes when I'm coming to a stop it also feels like something is sliding out from under the car. Any suggestions on where I should start trouble shooting? The Rear Splines have been replaced and this didnt really solve the problem. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry bros... It's a TD5 110 1999 Last edited by kweese on 18th Sep 2015 9:02am. As a first port of call I would check your prop UJs and A-frame ball-joint then all the bushes.

I'd put my money on the A frame ball joint. Take a look at the trailing arm bushes too.

Changed the A frame ball joint/bracket complete, last week, the change is massive, no slack in the drive now, well worth it for 30 quid.

Not sure high articulation A frame ball joint will do much if you are running stock retained springs. Even with a 2" lift, your articulation is being limited by the amount of drop you get.

Did my A frame ball joint yesterday with stock item. Great improvement - just surprised how much of an improvement it can make.
Good luck. |

How difficult was it to punch out the old ball joint assembly?
