Don't buy a Britpart transducer, lots of reports of them failing quickly.

Technically you can, but you would have to re-program the speedo head's EEPROM to accept a different number of pulses per mile. I have also seen someone take apart the Disco unit and modify he rotating magnet to have more 'lobes' which effectively increased/decreased (I forget which) the number of pulses generated per mile to match what is required by the speedo head.
There's a good thread on LR4x4 where a couple of clever chaps reverse-engineered the speedo head and decoded a lot of the internal programming. |
