Fitting Melville Moon seat covers
Got some of the M&M seat covers. Anyone have any tips to get the front seat base to fit back on the seat frame once the seat cover is installed?

you have to take out the front seat base(only the base seat). then it is very easy, but there is no instruction about that Sad www.newfoundland.gr

Tried that.

Sorry was not clear in my original post, I removed the seat and got the cover on but the seat will not go back in - the pins locate (just) but the seat does not clamp down at the front - it is not aligned.

M&M seat covers
Hi,
I managed to 'lever' the base of the seat back in place by using the adjustment bar to move the seat back and forth and angling the seat at the back. However, ensure the 'pivots' on each side of the base seat engage into the slot in the rail - careful not to damage the plastic inserts.
Good luck

Pay attention to the brass eyelets at the rear and how you tie off the straps. If you look at where this catches you will find that you need adjust things a bit. You will still find the seat bas a tight fit though. 110 2.4TDCi

Pull the seat cover REALLY tight around the base - you'll be surprised how much you can stretch it. That way the majority of the fabric seams and fastners will be under the base.

Use LOADS of brute force but don't break the front locating sockets (it is quite hard to break them so don't be too precious). If you have heated seats then make sure the cable isn't caught around the edge.

Once it's been on a few days then it all settles down. I left my passenger one unclipped for a few days (I wasn't taking passengers), re-tightened it and then fitted it.

Now I can remove and refit the seat bases as if I didn't have covers on! One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

I have just fitted some middle row grey ones to my 110, they went on alot easier than that !

next month, rear 2 (in the boot) and 2 fronts ... not looking forward to the front 2 now (unless grey ones are easier to fit) Razz

fitted the middle row seat covers, no problem. However I have just ordered the front pair, delivery late Sept, early October Shocked
