3 days seems very little time for a battery to last , really you need to test current draw when stationery and turned off
have you got a multi meter to test it with ? and then get battery drop tested to test that the ctek battery recon thing is only any good if you have a good battery thats been really discharged and left in discharged condition for a while ,if the battery is knackered its knackered ! |

Mine to is a 110sw on an 11 plate and after two days the ctek indicator flashes amber after two days and red after three days. Only used a few times a month so think battery is on way out. Also Standard alarm and tracker. Strange

Yeh, the funny thing is that on my motorbike the Amp hr on the crank is 140 so me thinks that 70 Amp hr is rather poo
 although I'm no engineer or leccie no doubt i will be corrected. .....

The motorbike battery 140a would be cranking amps , defender battery would be roughly 850a cranking amps , 70ah is the amount it would slowly give out

mine is an 11 reg and used infrequently, I have noticed it takes about 3 weeks for the battery to discharge enough for the cranking to be so slow to threaten a none start so I now put it on charge after about 2 weeks of no use. I suspect the problem is use related, the clock, alarm and any other active security devices will be draining the battery all the time. If you have a tracker most of them will tell you when you need to charge it up via the low voltage/disconnect warning. Clearly if you have an intelligent charger I would just leave that on all the time. If your journeys are short even if used every third day or so you may not be getting a full charge into the battery even for it to last 3 days. you may find a full charge every few weeks will suffice and the battery will last a good few more years and last more than 3 days DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

personally im not a lover of leaving any kind of charger connected and on 24/7
personally use a time switch to switch charger on and off , if everything as it should be (battery , no excessive drain etc ) you should only need to charge 15-30mins ( max 1 hour ) a day even on a trickle charger |
