2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green

-14 to -20 have you topped up your antifreeze?

With temperatures predicted to drop to between -14 to -20 degrees in January (if the MET office is right!) have you topped up your antifreeze?

According to both the AA and RAC antifreeze service is one of the most forgotten things in home car maintenance ‘Because modern antifreeze can last up to five years people forget to check its condition, we recommend that all types of antifreeze is checked before each winter period and ideally the antifreeze is replaced with a complete engine flush every two years’

A gallon of antifreeze is a lot cheaper than a new radiator or having your core plugs attended to.

Our car had a 48K Mile Main Dealer service last spring, would new antifreeze have been put in it?

I notice it had an engine flush according to the invoice.

Thanks for the reminder- I always check level but rarely consistency!

Should be ok but needs a top up so will top up with coolant

Just buy a cheapy tester and check it. Too much is just as bad as not enough

Don't think the usual testers can test oat anti-freeze,dunno?? Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

What problems does too much anti freeze cause ? Checked mine and Mrs Sparts the other day hers was ok to about -32 mine was about -40 !!! 2005 Td5 90 XS

Too much anti-freeze actually freezes and can cause overheating problems believe it or not. Your specs are fine

Had the bonnet up on her today and there is a Land Rover Label about genuine Land Rover Anti Freeze and Do Not Drain.

Is this something that would have been on it from the factory or does it sound like it's been applied at a service?
