Middle Front Seat
Hi Guys

Started the job of re trimming the seats.

I can get the from driver and passenger seats out no problem but I am stuck with the Middle one.

There is a bolt at the back that I can't seem to get to, can anyone tell me how to get it out. It's a T40 6mm posi drive thingy but I can't get a grip on it. Is there a special tool I should have ?

See photos below, it the bolt at the end of the screw driver blade (just used for reference)

Cheers

Duncan

Isn't that bolt just for the seat belt mount?

I remember it being a steward to remove but didn't use a special tool.

Sorted, Halford is your friend !

Did indeed hold the seat belt and the seat in place. Socket set from the bottom and one of these babies up top and tadaa ! Sorted Smile

Cheers.

Took my middle seat out recently. 2005 90 van style. To put a cubby box in.
3 bolts each side, 1 front (easy) two at rear.
Yes, the rear bolts hold both seat and seat belt mountings, for middle seat - and the buckles for the other 2 seats - so these bolts and brackets all have to be put back!
For safety reasons I guess at the rear:
One bolt is into a welded nut underneath and can only be accessed by open ended spanner as the seat frame prevented ring spanner from access. On one of mine I had to angle grind it off, which of course ain't real good when you realise you have to put it all back together again for the seat belts.
The other bolt is into a conventional nut but locktite'd and yes has a posidrive head. So all in all Land Rover really don't want these essential safety bolts coming adrift ...

In hindsight I'd think twice, then think again, about ripping out a perfectly good seat for a cubby box. There is a lot of fiddling around to do to make safe and good afterwards, I should have let sleeping seats lie ... Whistle Sold the much modified 110 2.8, in Oz
Brought the 90 home from Switzerland ...
