Make sure it comes with the dash switch. Check if Guava still offers a discount to forum members or worth checking with other forum sponsors on price. Extortionate at RRP! |

If the Landrover dash switch isn't a must, and I guess the OE loom is longer and more heavily protected than others as it runs externally , I have found the Roo light fit kit.
http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/1115...arness_kit I don't know if it is correct that Roo lights are made by light force, or are indeed just a cheaper copy. It not exactly expensive and I guess if the important parts are there, relays, fuse , switch etc, then if the wire length is an issue they can just be extended. Still pondering on which way to go, but the A Bar and lights are to be fitted tomorrow and then get them wired up as soon as is feasable Cheers, Nick |

So, with regards my stupidity as far as all things elecktrickery, does the below sound something like......
Live from battery, Running through an inline fuse, ( (10amp?) Carrying on to a switch on the dash, Which then exits the swtitch and continues through the bulkhead to engine bay. Onto a relay (30 amp??) On the relay is the live from the battery, and a trigger wire from the headlight loom ( can't remeber if N/S or O/S and what colour , blue and orange ??) Relay then onto the wires to the spots With it this way , I assume the dash switch will just be an interuppter switch, stopping the spots coming on with the main beam, rather than an independent on/off switch??. Goddam this is making my pea brain hurt ![]() ![]() A bar fitted this morning and spot lights all in place, just not working ![]() Only bonus being the lights were sold as 140's and when I actually got them home and started to clean them etc, i thought they looked a little large, so tape measure out and........ They are 170's ![]() ![]() Thanks in advance for any info chaps Cheers, Nick |

Just fitted the Landreiziger kit and all in took me 4 hours ( should have taken me 3 hours
![]() So all installed, relay inserted and then the fuse. Jumped in the drivers seat and started the Puma and put on the high beams, the Noldens went into high beam but the light bar, nada, nothing. So out with the DMM and found no power at the lightbar connection, ahh I thought I know where the issue may be. Nope wasn't what I thought it was and to save boring you all with the fault finding which after I completed showed no faults found??? It turned out the dash switch you get in the kit is required for the loom to work and I had used the original switch which came with the LR loom so wasted an hour trying to fault find a non existant fault. ![]() So in with the new switch and once again started the Puma and switched on the high beams, result the light bar was shining bright, now off to set up the light bar in the dark. |

Hello Windowlicker
Spooky ![]() I have a new pair of ![]() 170 mm Striker Driving Lights with Crystal Blue Filters and need to fit them, and like you need a wiring kit and GOOD instructions. I haven't made a decision yet, but think I will stick with Light Force as the product looks impressive and so hopefully their wiring harness should also be worth considering too, just need to track one down. I will check its cost against a Land Rover spotlight wiring kit, as one 'negative' I can see is that the LF harness, will obviously not have the Land Rover OE Dash board light switch (to isolate the Spots) but the LF harness may work with one, if I source this independently. (but I don't know if this is correct). I'm sure the LF harness will be less than the LR harness, but currently don't know this either... ![]() I have found a couple of things that may help... ![]() A Wiring Diagram...(drawn the way I like them, could be improved by showing coloured wires ![]() http://www.ozautoelectrics.com/lightforce-wiring-harness.html ![]() The Light Force Harness...(I'm looking for a good UK Supplier) http://www.terrafirma4x4.com/docs/Lightforce_Brochure.pdf A useful Brochure... A YouTube Video showing the DIY approach Let us know how you get on... ![]() https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

K9F and X4SKP , Thanks formtaking the time to post the diagrams
![]() k9's being a little too technical for me , ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Having been out tonight to take the dog, I couldn't wait to try them, I flicked the switch , and wow , most impressive, really pleased with my purchase ![]() ![]() ![]() Not really , I made that up, I just drove along wondering what they would be like, due to the fact I am irritatingly crap with electrics ![]() So I will sort, one way or another this week, as it is getting on my tits now ![]() Thanks again chaps. Cheers, Nick |

K9's diagram is the same as mine but without the switch.
With mine full beam on so are spots and that is how it's triggered. Easy and simple and there when you want it and off when you want it. |

Is the Lightforce wiring loom long enough for the Defender as read a few comments saying it was too short?
