Air intake position
May be a daft question, I am looking for new wing and side air intake vents but seem a bit confused, my side vent is on the left hand wing, but kbx site indicates td5 is on the right wing, it lists a 200tdi as on the left wing. My defender is a 1999 td5. Chassis vin lists it as a 2000 model.

Thanks

Air intake for the air filter box or for the heater?

Heater intake is on the passenger side wing top
Air intake is on the drivers side wing, on the side
The above is based on a RHD Defender 1999 Defender TD5 110

It may be my wing has been replaced with a wing from a tdi200 model, does your td5 have any side vent ?

That could be so. The only side vent I have is the air intake on the drivers side 1999 Defender TD5 110

That's what is confusing me, I have no intake vent on the right hand side, so what isn't connected? Air intake ? Or does it not matter? Told you I was confused!!

Maybe a picture of your engine bay around the air filter housing might shed some light? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Are you sure it's a TD5 (serious question)? It looks like a Tdi.

Perhaps a TD5 engine has been retro-fitted to a Tdi vehicle, or the front end of a TD5 has been rebuilt with Tdi panels.

If you can post a photo with the bonnet open, preferably showing the areas inside the wings, it may be possible to advise further.

Assuming its the same V reg vehicle as posted above it should be a TD5? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Yes same one I checked the vin and it is td5 I'm guessing it's had its wings changed in a previous life, will take photo Friday when back home, as I need to see that all is connected correctly.

Cheers all

Which rather begs the question where is the air intake for the engine?

Agreed, but I was thinking it mught be a pre-TD5 registered late, such as on cast from MoD.
