Double DIN in TD5 dash ?
As the title says really - I know it is possible to buy replacement double DIN facias for Pumas - but has anyone come across any for the 2002 onward TD5 dash?

Thanks for the pointer - unfortunately it states that it will not fit a double DIN. I also think it looks like it is just a plate screwed over the existing fascia (which is of course exactly what it is!) - I would prefer a more original look.

I could spend a fortune on that site!!

Because the switches at the top of the dash angle down I don't think a double din will fit in the original hole as the wiring plugs etc are in the way, but an American company did put one in by making the hole lower and repairing/repainting the full centre dash, so it is possible but a lot of work.

The problem is depth.

You can't get a double din in easily unless you use the Mudstuff plate (somebody has done that on here recently in a TD5) or mount it very low (like ECR did)

However you can get thinner Head Units such as the Parrot Asteroid Double which with a bit of fettling should work.

Watch this space but won't be for a while as I've got no money left due to that Jeremy fella Laughing

Do you not find the screen a little low and out of line of sight?

Do you use it for navigation or just playing music? The Rules:-

Surely someone does a kit where:

- the top row of switches can be relocated. There is no reason why they need to remain there.
- the entire facia that houses the top row of switches & stereo is replaced

thus giving a proper double din sized hole and more.

Just followed the same route. Works great. No issues with the height. Just enough space for the chassis and wiring to fit.
