I have the horn constantly, which is something to do with being attracted to tall large chested blondes...........not sure what the solution is!

Move to Brighton!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Changed slightly to compliment the constructive contribution.... ![]() Personally I wouldn't initially overcomplicate your issue. If you have access to a multimeter you could check out the horn circuit.... the horn is fed via a 100 amp megafuse Link 1 to a 20 amp fuse (fuse3) through the column switch to the horn. As a guess your column switch would perhaps be the weak link. Look there first before heading into more difficult territory would be my advice, it may be a simple fix. Good luck.... ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! Last edited by K9F on 15th Apr 2014 10:10am. Edited 2 times in total |

The horn is also fed via a header and the relay sounder alarm R200 via fuse 27 which is rated at 10 amps. This is back fed via the alarm ECU. Try pulling fuse 27 and see if the horn still activates constantly. If it does this may be an indication the fault lies within the ECU and you will need specialist diagnostics I'm afraid. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Removed fuse 27 and no horn after replacing the 15 amp alarm fuse under the seat which is the one I removed to kill the horn I replaced the 10 amp 27 fuse still no horn dont know if its reset itself ? initially when removing the alarm fuse last night the BBUS sounded had to remove the BBUS as it was late last night when this started to happen and it soon died havent replaced the BBUS as yet

At least you're a little closer. With a little luck it may possibly as you stated reset itself. If not you have a greater indication of where the issue lies. Fingers crossed. I would pull the fuses and possibly disconnect the battery before refitting the BBUS so you don't reintroduce any gremlins when reconnecting up.

Ive done the normal checks on the alarm open door armed alarm and horn beeps twice so seems the alarm is ok havent plugged in the BBUS as yet but noticed the BBUS terminals have a bit green corrosion on the pins sprayed with electrical contact cleaner but neighbours said they noticed a smell of burning when the horn was sounding wonder if the charger being on car start boost for 5 or 6 hours has done any damage to wiring (melted) thoughts please

Put it all back together and start her up. That's what fuses are for. We could theorise all day what may or may not be wrong but the proof will be in the pudding.
The smell they thought they could smell could have been anything from a woodburner to someone's old crusty undercarackers. Give it a whirl. The smell of electrical death is very distinctive and if something has burnt out that they could smell from a distance it will still be there albeit slight. Have a sniff about before firing her up once the batteries are reconnected and the ignition on but not running. ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Good plan. Then ignition for a couple of minutes then fire her up would be my idea of a plan! ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

The green crystalised corrosion on the BBUS pins looks like a leaking internal battery is that possible that Ive fried the internal battery but its all reconnected again alarm armed lets see
