[For Sale] Mud Pod, Land Anchor, CB Aerial
Hi

I've lurked here for a while as I'm mostly on the D3 forum, however I have sold my Defender so I have some bits for sale.

Martin has kindly allowed me this advert.

Mud Pod - fits in the dash and contains switches for extra lights etc. I think I paid £80 for it including the switches. I am looking for £50 plus £6 for postage - although this may be less. SOLD!

CB aerial - its the magnetic base type and would be a pain to post so would prefer collection however we could always try...
I want £20 for this and this will be donated to the D3 crank case oil fund thingy that Bodsy is running. PLEASE NOTE THE CB IS NOT INCLUDED!

Land Anchor - I think I bought it from XEng for £180 and have used it twice.
I want £110 ono and would really prefer it to be uplifted however could post it desired. I do have an outstanding PM on the D3 forum but "second dibs" till I find out if he wants it or not this week could work.
No idea of postage costs at this time. SOLD.

maybe interested in the CB aerial. Where would it mount on a defender? can't think of any flat steel panels? did you have it fitted to a discovery then? Cheers, David

I had it mounted to the bulkhead behind the driver's seat so it was horizontal. I had great plans for a simple plate on the roof however I got great reception where I put it so never needed to Very Happy
And it was the perfect length to fit in the 90.

hmm ok, I'm home tomorrow (reunited with my 110) tomorrow so will have a look around for mounting points. You're welcome to sell if someone wants it before me, but i may get back to you.

Any chance you could give a rough estimate of diameter/max width of the base and length of the aerial so i can see how it would fit in various places? Cheers, David

If you want a discreet mounting stick a sheet of steel on the underside of the roof behind the headlining. To make it really secure glue another magnetic base on the underside, just make sure you get the magnets the right way round, I've done this to secure a magnetic flashing beacon on previous Defenders over the years

Morning

I've had a thought - not much use now I suppose - but I had a bulkhead removal bar so it probably stuck itself to that however the plate idea would still work there.

It's 7 inches wide at the base and 42.5 inches long.

Hope that helps.
