No need to remove the wing! The brace is held in place onto the chassis bracket by a nut and bolt in each bottom corner (13mm Spanners) and 2 long bolts at the top that screw upwards from underneath into the bonnet catch (10mm socket), removing them lets you release the 2 cross braces. If you need to remove the landing panel that is held in place by 4 bolts that screw into captive fittings in the wing. (13mm Socket) Hope this helps!

You might have to remove the electric fan to give you better access to the bolts at the latch. Its a bit like playing Twister when your trying to look up under the landing panel to see where the bolts are! Great fun! Laughing

use a stud extractor for the 4 bolts...saves damage to inner wings trying to prise off the bracket.. Putting Dreams on Drives at JLR Solihull..

Looks like the inter cooler won't fit my car unfortunately that's a bit of a bummer as the cars now in bits...

Not wide enough to fit around...

Ah that is neat. I also have a none-aircon front but it has it... although the aircon condenser rad is in front of the intercooler...

Which intercooler did you buy?

what if you fitted a proper defender aircon condenser in front of the intercooler ( you may have to fit aircon grille panel ). also may have to fit aircon hoses and pipes to go with it

This is what I have and it is a tight squeeze but you do not need the aircon grille. Have been tempted to put the aircon grille on though Rolling Eyes

I fitted the exact same one to my 90XS and it took me a considerable amount of time. A little 'fettling' was required but worth it in the end. On my 90 I did not have the angled strut braces depicted on yours which also suggests your aircon may be aftermarket perhaps? I did manage to fit it without disturbing the air con condensor but it was a tight fit. You need to remove the studs at one end of your bonnet brace to remove it completely. I mislaid the cable retaining insert in the process which just drops out when the cable is extracted. Never did find it but change out of £2 for a new one.

Being a great advocator and believer in 'You get what you pay for' I decided to wait. Serck were available but I resisted the temptation. Made a subsequent call earlier in the week to see if and when they would be available. I was also after a set of silicone hoses as well.

Phonecall made I was informed first batch were in and that (after a little persuasion) a set of stainless steel interconnecting hard-pipes with silicone attachments were possibly to be had too.

12 hours to strip and fit, claret all over the engine bay due to hands being cut to shreds, but am I happy? Hell yes! Great advice and photographs for the fitment from a fellow forum member. You know who you are and yet another BIG THANK YOU to the member concerned.

Bow down Thumbs Up

Photographs speak a thousand words so here's a few against a stock intercooler as comparison. Starting of course with the arrival of a very well packaged parcel.....Worth the wait as excellently engineered and finished. The service from Gary at Alive was top notch too, with update when package was being sent and when arrival could be expected.
