United Kingdom 2002 Defender 110 Td5 CSW Zermatt Silver
Clonking whilst setting off in 1st gear
I have a clonking sound when setting off in 1st gear and can only think that its a prop shaft UJ. What are you guys thought?

Oh and its a 110 TD5

Uj,s on prop, rear axle ball joint, drive flanges, something loose.

Wales 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
Possibly the rear axle ball joint as suggested.

Cheap fix but can be a pain to remove the old joint from the fulcrum.

Mines on the "to get around to list".

Could also be rear shock bushes too. Craig Rogers

In my 110 td5 the clonk came from the flange and the rear left half shaft, I changed the rear shafts and all the flanges and the clomks was ..... rediced to a minimum Augusto
