110 DCPU 2nd row legroom
Hello,

Is there anybody who has succesfully made some modification so there is more legroom in the back of a 110 DCPU.
In fact the room is so narrow my child of 2 year old can not strech his legs in the childseat Crying or Very sad ...a trip of 1500km in the back is realy no fun...

So i'm looking for a solution :

1st : thing i thinking is changing te standaard front seats to sparco raptor seats or equivalent (i suppose those are thinner in the back) so i gain some inches..but i do not know if this wil work

2nd : if i'm looking where the problem is for the uncomfortable ride in the back, there is no foot room enough to place your feet + the seats in the back can not bend backwards.
So i looked under the car and saw there is some room between the batterybox and the footroom in the back, maybe there is a solution that that space can be used ?

3nd : replacing back seats with thinner seat (again the back) that can be reclined...

4nd : if i'm looking at the 130, i'm confused because i' think there is more legroom , anybody that can confirm this ?

So if anybody has tryed these , i would really like to know if they work (other solutions are also welcom)

I can't really help with your first three questions, but can confirm that a 130 is exactly the same as a 110. The extra length is behind the cab. Darren

110 DCPU = 110 SW = 130 HCPU. The deffirence in these models is what happens behind the 2nd row seats.

IIRC there was some one who moved the seat a few inches backwards but that required cutting in to the body and welding new pieces in etc, etc.....

BTW.....how big is your kid?

We are not exactely small folk down here in Africa most of our kids do just fine in the back?

The 110 and 130 double cabs have less 2nd row legroom than and 110 SW models, by something like 2 to 3 inches. The reason is that the rear panel of the cab prevents the seats being as far back, and the seat backs are also more upright.

The only person I have yet heard of who has managed to come up with an effective solution to this is AndrewS who took the rear of the cab out of his 130 DC HCPU "J-Lo" and combined the cab and rear load space, making a sort of "super-USW" (and very nice it is too). This is not practical for most of us though.

Sadly I don't really think there is any effectice solution (besides amputation) for this, unless you can find a replacement seat with a very thin backrest. Even that will make so little difference that it might not really be worth the effort.

As Blackwolf says, the 110 DCPU and 130 HCPU are the same in terms of leg room but Regard is wrong that they are the same as the 110 SW / CSW / USW (again as Blackwolf has already said)

I think it's nearer three inches (or 76.2mm for youngsters) but can't remember the exact figure.

Back to OP can you not remove the seat back & secure the car seat to back of the double cab so you gain the seat back depth Question 2020 P300 HSE

What about fitting child seat in the middle of the second row so he can put feet up on top of cubby box ? Very Happy It's good to be back from the dark side

Also if you unbolt the rear backs from there brackets this allows the backs to fold flat not sure if it allows them to recline a bit but if you removed the brackets out the way it may allow them back a bit It's good to be back from the dark side
