Strange alarm problem
Hoping for a bit of help here...

My alarm has started behaving strangely and although I can't pinpoint exact circumstances I'll give an example.

Arrive at fuel station, switch off, get out and fuel up. Then I open door to get wallet and the alarm goes off, frantic button pushing silences it. Another example I unlock the car, son opens rear door, alarm goes off. At first i thought I might be locking it with door open etc but I don't think I am. The problem is it always happens when I'm not expecting it so I can't work out any sort of pattern.

Any thoughts?

By the way, still under warranty but about a 75 mile round trip to the dealer so will go if necessary, just after some educated ideas first.....

I'd try the simple things first.

Does it do it when you have either fob on you or just a specific fob?

Have you changed the batteries?

May be the 10AS faulty. My 90 done this but double check the interior light switches on the door pillars and the one under the bonnet. Sometimes they don't break the earth and send a signal to the alarm that a door is open. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

Thanks for the replies. I only ever use one fob so I'll give the other one a go although I've never changed the batteries either. I'll have a Look at the switches too. Thanks again.

I think the batteries are meant to be replaced every 24 months under the service schedule.

R-D was yours not sorned for a prolonged time though? My alarm started playing up after the four year point and as I hadn't covered more than 3,500 miles in the last two years had a service and fob batteries replaced that sorted the alarm woes. Using the spare fob is always a good indicator too as mentioned.
