United Kingdom 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 DCPU Stornoway Grey
Front wings
Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between a late Td5 front wing assembly and an early Puma? I mean as far as the panels themselves are concerned not the adornments like lights, wiring, plastic bits, etc. The panels I'm interested in are the outer and inner wing, the top panel, and the front (headlamp) panel assembly.

Thanks!

Just seems to be the outer panel that has a different part number. Don't know what the physical difference is though... they seem to look the same.

Wow! Thank you, five star comprehensive answer!

The outer panel ironically is the one I most expected to be the same.

No wories. I was playing with the new microcat last night anyway so it only took minutes.

For a laugh... the new 2014 RRS stripped 5.0 V8 engine, costs Ģ13600 ish... that's what I paid for my new 90 in 1992!

Just in case anyone else is wondering what is the difference between an Td5 and Puma wing outer panel, further enquiries lead me to believe that the only difference is the shape and size of the ole for the indicator repeater lamp. On the Td5 it is a square-ish hole, and on the Puma it is a rectangular slot. Other than that there appears to be no difference between ASB710270 (Puma) and ASW710150 (Td5) on the n/s, and the equivalents on the o/s.

my MY12 front panel has another hole underneath the headlamp. I have no idea what it is for. I wasnīt aware of it until I removed the plastic headlamp/indicator/position-light - surround. Itīs approximately 3-4cm big if my guess out of memory works well.

I havenīt heard the TD5 have such a hole. If all plastic is removed thereīs only the rectangular (ventilation) hole midway between indicator and position-lamp

Interesting, but according to Microcat it is only the wing outer panel which is different - all the others are apparently the same!

The mystery deepens ...

Ah, I believe (don't hold me to this) that this is for in built DRLs. (A trader at the Harrogate show told me this) An engine to TDi for!
