Yes there was a label on the top of the radio with the wiring connections, it didn't match the diagram I downloaded but I figured the label actually on the set should be right and sure enough it was. The wire concerned was blue/white, which is a colour I have heard mentioned on other threads but didn't want to use without confirmation.

|Is it possible to get the alpine unit out without the proper keys/tool if so where are the locking tabs in relation to the unit?

Small screwdriver each side to spring the lugs located at the top each side
