So i've finally got an update on this Smile

I bought a 2010 110 SW Puma 2.4, which had been rolled. Its basically got all the wiring, engine, gearbox, transfer, etc that will fit directly to the 130.

My only issues i'm thinking is:
- Fuel tank?
- ABS, how do i remove it ???
- Cutting the old engine and gearbox mount brackets from the Puma and welding and positioning them onto my 130 chassis.

Do you guys have any ideas? The Puma starts and drives without any issues. It even has HID spot lights, dual batteries, LRA long range fuel tank ( can i retro-fit this into the 130?)

I'm also planning on salvaging the doors from it and repairing the bulk head too. I know they look horrible, but hopefully be able to find someone competent and up to the task.

I think I would perhaps look at re-bodying the 110 with the 130 body rather than the transplant the other way Exclamation

Chassis mechanicals etc look good so may be an easier proposition & give you 2010 vehicle when you've finished

I'm not at expert but hopefully one will be along soon Very Happy 2020 P300 HSE

Very similar to a BRB one from David Bowyer (or direct from PWS bars)

Pretty good, but so so so heavy! I've had two. changed back to a factory plain winch mount now, and handling and suspension issues are a thing of the past.

Given OPs location it may be an original ARB bar - I think DB used to import them before he designed his own version...

They also do a "plain" bumper:

I had a Bearmach version back in the day and can speak for the weight of this style of bar!

Can't help but be drawn to the slanting lines of the roof at the rear and think it actually suits the vehicle. Kind of reminds me of those National Geographic car advents of many years ago:

Surely just rebody the 110?...????

You've got all the bits be done in a weekend and have a load of left overs to sell.

You could then use the extra time to practise at cricket

Yeah i'm not sure what path to head down. I could use parts of the 130 and make a 110 double cab. Put i would prefer the extra space on the 130 tub. Although it would be remarkably easy to fix up the body on the 110. I removed the roof today, and it was a breeze. Like a big lego set! Very Happy

Any ideas how i could disable the ABS and TC on the 110 when fitting it to the 130?

Assuming your going down the road of putting a Puma on that 130 who not just take over the ABS/TC as you will be extending all the loom and bringing over the ECU and friends? If not I would assume your into using some ECU firmware tweaks to kill it off electronically (talk to some of the modders, Porny @ IRB should know how) and also you will need the mods to make sure nothing is left behind that would fail your MOT.

I am about as far from an expert on this as you could get but I am sure the 110's ABS/TC from both Puma's and TD5's has been used on 130's in various situations by LR, that said I know it is not on current 130's out of the factory.

A Puma 130 could be awesome esp. as you have so much of the Puma to work with. That said, redoing the Puma with the 130 bits and cashing out is the easier option surely? Smile.

Edit: For the record, I would go 130 and just accept it is a money pit of joy Wink.  John - Random Defender Owner
