For Sept, and at this altitude (1200m) unusual. Normally have a smallish dump mid-to-late Oct, but not Sept. And it was quite a few CMs. A few years back I did wake up to find snow on my motorbike in mid-July. Only stuck around a few hours. Normally the benchmark dates for the first real dumps of snow are the Autumn internationals. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

Brought a new steering wheel, and security kit for it. They said start to shop early for Xmas this year 😂 Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details

I’m organising an off road rally scatter type day (let me know if it’s something you may fancy a go at...for fun, free to enter).

So I’ve been out and about after lunch getting info for questions in the brilliant sunshine.

The National Park Ranger came to see that I was okay.

Made the switch to winter tires. And learned that Sonax wheel cleaner also cleans copper.

Picked up my steering guard from my engineer pal who kindly modded it for me to allow fitting of jate rings. I followed the example of other forum members who have done this. Thumbs Up

I have obtained stainless steel replacement fasteners and although it’s new and as yet unused, I have overcoated the standard painted bracket assembly with a couple of coats of Hycote Bed Liner in the hope of making it more resistant to being damaged by stone chips.

Curious to know how he made the mods, as in what tools and equipment he used?

Milking machine for the “cuts”. Then hand finished with tungsten carbide burr.

That should read “milling“ but kept the original spell-check goof for the laugh 😂

I read that first sentence and thought WTF?!! Then started questioning whether it was some metal working machine I had never heard of despite knocking around metal working shops for the last 20 years!
