don't fret about it - they are virtually impossible to balance perfectly.

I know its nothing major, just when i had the micky t MT's on they were spot on, although I had to have some weight on the outside of the rim

Nothing to tell , just show you balance them to below 5g find out if the rim and tyre has high spots etcetcetc Once you know they are balanced if its still there then you can move on |

My twisted alloys shake a bit at around 50 but if its 60+ or less than 50 its alright. Is this roughly the same as yours ? William

A few years ago I bought a full set of Tyres for a 300 Tdi 90, it had standard steel wheels, from a large tyre company. They could not balance them up even with 100g weights all over the rims so I just put up with it.
A couple on months later I needed a set of Tyres for the caravan and went to an independent dealer who was cheaper then anyone else, I watched him balance the wheels and it was very enlightening, he first spun up the rim and marked the heavy point then put on the tyre and spun it up marking the heavy spot, deflated the tyre and shuffled it round re inflated the tyre and stuck a 5g weight on. While he was doing the other 4 I started talking to him and he told me that not only can the rims be out of balance but so can the tyres and by doing it the way he does it you can almost get rid of the out of balance. I told him about the 90 and the problems the other company had had, forty minutes later I had perfectly balance wheels and tyres on the 90 and a sack load of weights to take home. |

Invariably it's down to the dedication and determination of the tyre fitter and of course how busy/how much time they have but if there's a lot of weights needed by rotating the tyre on the rim the weights can be reduced by finding the optimum position for the tyre. I had the spare done but when the rest were fitted they were too busy and just stuck the tyres and weights on without rotating. I wanted some feedback on balancing beads as they may negate the requirement for weights perhaps? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Yes the same,, Had a front on a balancing machine today, currently has 125g on the outside behind the spokes, and 70 on the inside. Asked for another 175g on the outside and 60 on the inside! I will just stay below 50 for now... |

Ever thought of using Dyna Beads?
