Wonder if thats an updated Freelander engine, present freelander is euro IV. Produces more torq and HP than the current defender as a euro IV, but wonder how much euro V will strangle it. Sad Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

That sucks, but the transit uses a 3.2 which is just a bigger 2.4 right? using the same gearbox, a 3.2l defender sounds cool Smile Rolling with laughter 110 Tdci Double Cab

I think the transit is fitted with a 2.2 on the front wheel drive models and they go up to 140 bhp as standard so not too bad? Formerly mao99999

Land rover rip off

Quite the opposite- it looks like a modernised version of the 1970's Bronco- and is quite similar to how it was

Hmm.... my old CBR600 bike was, um, 600cc and about 100bhp, but i wouldn't want that in a car! i'd like something with cubic capacity for low end torque

I think its probably more to do with engine supply from Ford. They've probably put the prices up and with all the warrenty claims they may as well shove something else in......3.0 TDV6 Whistle

Somebody on here must work for Land Rover, so tell the boss to listen to us seens as though we (along with footballers and fat businessmen who buy range rovers, and sonic who buys a new one when the old one gets muddy Laughing ) probably keep the company and many subsidiaries afloat.

Freelander 1.8 K series then Rolling with laughter

For the Defender off-road characteristics it's better a 4 cylinder........
