Too late now. I picked mine up from my VW dealer in the city center (A.Bonelli as you may know across from Da Paulo, the famous pizza place). I paid Swiss prices of course, nothing compared with the 14 dollars including postage that dgardel paid
Still , very happy with it, although now that I think about it, not sure how much use it will be to me because it seems months and months ago since we had a last rain here Sorry about that last remark, I know it must feel nasty to you guys in the North West I am off to the Defender now to wipe off all the dust You never actually own a Defender. Hope it works
Saying this because (please read my earlier comments in this thread) I bought the Hella relay with the number mentioned by you, which on the box indeed says "wiper relay programmable", but on my Defender it would not work like that. No matter what I tried, it would just do the 6 seconds interval between wipes. Then I bought the VW relay as per dgardel info, and that one works a treat Let us know if you are more lucky. Hi all, thanks to Dave-H on Welsgas' behalf from dredging this thread up.
Has anyone fitted one of these relays in a late TD5 XS? one comment I fond refers to the existing relay being installed behhind the dash, is this correct, or is it in the fuse box on the bulkhead? Not got TD5 available at the moment to poke around in. He who dies with the most toys wins Defender 90 & 110, S1 80", Disco 1, S111 88 LRSOC & CVLRC |

In my '05 XS it was definitely behind the dash. Darren

Thinking about doing the back one, but my only concern is, what happens when you wash the back? You can't then turn the wiper on apart from intermittent? Craig Rogers

You need to run a separate feed up from the washer motor live to bypass the intermittence and make it run continuously when washing.

Excellent, relay arrived friday and was quickly and easilly installed today.
I now have programeable Check Wipe in the front. In my 06 the relay was the 3rd from the r/h/s of the car, the original is a red AMR 2341 which I shall probably install on the rear. Just wondering if anyone has installed this relay in the centre console near the switch rather than in the back door, and if so do they recall the witing changes necessary. Got the relay through the post today from eBay. £13. Anyone know which relay to replace on a 2.2 puma? They are all black. One does has a red behind/ bit where you push it in.. Is this it? I'm simple so need simple guidance... Thanks

Turn the intermittent wipers on and see which relay clicks? Steve.

Just fitted the relay on my 02 td5 this morning...it is indeed behind the dash.
It only took about 10 minutes to do. I just wish it would rain! Jim |

Fitted mine yesterday. I have heated front Window, this relay is in the top row outside left. On the right side of this was the wiper relay. it is secured by 2 plastic parts where noses from the relay go in.
Cheers Tom |
