Wheel Bearing Service?

Hi,

Does anyone service their Defender wheel bearings or just wait until they fail/ get noisy/ wobbly wheels/ loose break pedal etc

I replaced my front bearing circa 3yrs ago with Timkin bearings and new seals. Just wondering if I need to strip and re-grease at some point?

Timken are known to last ages.

Id jack up the wheel, check for play and smoothness, if all ok then nothing to worry bout.

if play then replace!

Should know as I change mine frequently but then I do use mine off road all the time in work and outside work!

edited to add but then they arent too expensive so you could do it for peace of mind anyway? 2011 Santorini Black USW XS.

check for play, tighten if they need it for the old style or replace with shorter shim on new style (or convert to old style)

if you run std size tryes they will last a fair while (assuming normal use) 80-100k. Cheers
