vibration and rumbling
This started at Scotch Corner today. After 200 mile drive to Sheffield. Vibration and rumbling at 50mph on the overrun, but very much less pronounced under load. Anything over 50 it's back, even under load. Suspect prop uj failing. Sounds from rear and front. 03 td5 90, do thesestill have uj grease nipples? Ashamed to say I don't know. If they have, lack of greasing maintainance could be cause if this is the problem. Again ashamed of myself!!

Also check the handbrake drum and shoes - mine judders on the overrun at 80+ km/h when it's warm because the shoes vibrate against the distorted drum. Maybe a "shoe loose" (pardon the pun).

All the UJs still have nipples (mine's a Puma 110) but some are bloody awkward - I had to grind down my adapter. Think I even had to take the prop off to do one Rolling Eyes

Actually not all of them have nipples as apparently LR sometimes forget to screw them in... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Mine was the same, after about 20 mins driving it started to vibrate badly. Turned out I need new UJ's. John

If it's as bad as you suggest, then greasing now is only likely to be a temporary solution. Chnaces are you'll need new UJ's. Darren

Local independent garage think it's a bearing behind the handbrake drum in the transfer box! Yeah I realised non-greasing would have wrecked uj's. Bit of expense coming!

Why do the damn things wait untill a Saturday afternoon before spitting a few needles out. I kept meaning to replace my spare one and of course it never happened so it'll just have to be nursed the next couple of days Rolling Eyes
