the two pictures one from the bottom

The bumper is just a standard one with holes cut in to fit the surrounds that I machined at work. I have some spare black delrin (plastic) if you want them I can send you or I can machine some more aluminum ones that I've now painted and used. Thumbs Up

I think the first four ones look a bit bling with the chrome looking surrounds. Not cheap either! 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Bling does seem very popular, but they also list them available in black, look quite nice I thought.

The chrome ones have now gone replaced with either black or brushed alloy. FF sent me a free pair of the brushed alloy ones when mine suffered from corrosion (which was good of them).

Obviously for looks as the roof bar lights are illegal on public roads.

Roof lights are only illegal when wired to be independently switched. If wired so that they can only come on with main beam then they are perfectly within the rules.

I've been thinking about additional front driving lights, if I understand it correctly you can use them on a public road as long as they go off when high beam is changed to standard low beam. If that's the case having been driving along with high beam and additional lights on and another car comes towards you, you dip your lights and the high beam and additional lights are changed to dip only, doesn't that mean (having got used to the brightness of your dip/driving light combo) that you are plunged into darkness as your eyes adjust to the dip only lights?

This is the only reason that I'm holding back from add on lighting at the front.

Can you get road legal dipping driving lights? as that would solve the issue.

I appreciate the fact that they 'look' better and would be very useful off road at night, but concerned about the 'darkness' when going to dip.

Additional front fog lights I can see the benefit of (unless its broad daylight, thats when I see their used the most Whistle )

Not lightweight either 5mm thick with built in recovery eyes. Built like a girder and you get what you pay for, especially if you're going off road. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

My friends Tdi 90 has two massive wipac spotlights on with 100w bulbs in. The transition between main and dip isn't too bad. Plus it isn't for very long, when the car is passed you are back on main again. 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Are 100w spotlights, however they are wired, legal on Public Roads. Question LANDYWATCH

Yes and No. Yes to the lights on an A bar or the roof however the way in which they are switched is a legal side. I believe front mounted spots may be wired using the main beam as a switch or a switch or a combo of both. However roof mounted spots I understand have to be switched only and NOT switched on or of by using main beam on the stalk.

**Correct any detail if anyone thinks it is wrong. As I mention this is my understanding Thumbs Up _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___
