Is this the wrong time to mention we do an LED foglight designed and certified as an actual fog light?

Do not get me started on rear fog lights as if you switch them on you should not still be able to do 70mph on the motorway Mad

@mk1collector,
No problem with the vehicle. Excellent choice for the country lanes and roads that are never gritted or cleared by the council. Just the addition of auxiliary driving lights which are never used. Obviously for looks as the roof bar lights are illegal on public roads. Would be much better if they fitted a proper lighting system that would do the job required. Most cars are fitted with more than adequate lighting systems to cope with the roads and driving conditions in this country. I could be wrong but I thing most Land Rovers, Defenders excepted, made in the last few years already have front fog lights and many have Xenon or HID lighting systems more than adequate for this country, and if you cannot see clearly then you slow down. Cross country or the outback different set of circumstances. That's my 6ps worth. Sorry if I've offended anyone.

Mind you I did enjoy last winter towing a D3 out of a snow drift. It had lots of lights on it but the driver, well the least said the better. LANDYWATCH

I don't want two massive spot lights on the front, firstly because my main beam is perfectly adequate as it is, secondly main beam is useless in fog and also, it would undo the effect of the bigger intercooler i have fitted by blocking most of the airflow through it.

i really just wanted to know who made the bumper with the fogs in, however i do have a set of Tim's headlights so a matching set of LED fogs wouldn't go a miss! 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Roof lights are only illegal when wired to be independently switched. If wired so that they can only come on with main beam then they are perfectly within the rules. Darren

It is perfectly legal to have roof mounted lights on your vehicle.

They only become illegal IF they are used on the public highway, IF they are switched independent of mainbeam and are not E marked.

We suggest that roof lights are wired independent off the main switch, so that when your main light switch burns out at least you have some illumination!

It's a pity you can't "test before you buy" (unless you can get hold of a fog machine...)
I had fog lamps on my T4 VW bus and on my current Audi (I paid extra) and whenever I used them in fog or snow they just make things worse (everything just glares).
Reading this, I'm beginning to think coloured filters are essential - am I learning something? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Did you turn off your normal headlights? Fogs are supposed to be set low to see "under" the fog/snow...the normal headlights are set higher, so they reflect back straight into your eyes,

Switch normal dip beam off when using foggers - otherwise the benefit is lost... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Filters do just that filter out most of the light leaving just the desired colour left within the spectrum, wasting most of the light created as your filter blocks it.

Are you sure you are using fogs with just side lights as they should not create serious glare due to the height below the bonnet line
