TD5 front brake pads
When I replaced the rear brake pads there was a set of metal shims that fitted between the pads and the piston in the calliper.

Tonight I replaced the front pads and on removing them I had no separate shims, what I did have was what looked like a set of shims stuck to the back of the pads. I tried removing these but stuck fast.
I noticed that the back the pads had white printed writing on them so assumed they are part of the pad.
The news ones (Mintex) did not have the same.

Is this normal? or am I missing something? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Mintex pads that i've used don't have shims on the back. I just put copper grease on the back of the pads and pop them in. Never had a problem.

I just replaced my pads using genuine LR parts and they had no shims, just the additional bit stuck on the back.

Cheers

Same as me, shims on old pads, but none on new pads. Just put copper grease on the backs and popped then in.

No probs, all good. Thumbs Up
