King of sparks...
I might be wrong, but I didn't think yours was 'remapped'? From previous posts i thought you'd just had a new ecu flashed with an EU4 cal and the DPF removed? So a simple calibration change and DPF off? Not hard to do! But you still have the same poor calibration, and no DPF. From recent testing, and live data logs there is big potential in the 2.2 mapping.... And it will need more than the bit of fuel and a bit of boost here as quite a few 'tuners' will do. So do you think the ability to remap a 2.2 is far away?
I only ask because I just bought a new 110 Utility x-Tech and am keen to get it mapped. I also have a 2012 MY 8 speed Disco 4, and am eagerly awaiting for somebody to be able to map it! BAS can do it 'on bench' but I would really prefer the ability to be able to apply the map myself and remove it when required, similar to the Superchips Bluefin product. |

I don't think it will be far away..... All of the companies that supply interfaces that everybody else uses are working on it - but none of them have cracked it - and even if they did it will probably require the ECU to be opened. However.... ![]() The standard calibration does need a lot of work - and there will be massive improvements to be had even without increasing max power and torque.... it's all about how it drives. ![]() The problem with 2.2 mainly comes down to torque delivery. See graph from dyno run. This is a none smoothed 'at wheel' power delivery - so a proper graph, not one that has been tweaked to look good. ![]() Click image to enlarge Ian Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() The home of the first modified Keswick Green 90 - and the first 2.4 Puma through both the 200bhp and 550Nm barriers. www.IRBdevelopments.com www.facebook.com/irbdevelopments www.integrated316.com www.facebook.com/integrated316 |

Somewhere yes...
But if not, I'm just about to start a complete redevelopment of my 2.4 Tuning - I'm starting with a 100% standard Defender, and documenting and logging exactly the gains and benefits from each modification... so will have lots of dyno sheets! JE engineering have also told me that the ecu used to be manufactured by Siemans but the 2.2 is now made by Bosch . LR have made it very difficult to crack the codes in the ecu and im assured no company has yet done this . Yes there are those who have removed DPF and done the plug-ins and all the other little tweeks but untill a quality engineering company cracks the system then many many other new 2.2 owners are still going to have to put up with the holding revs on the clutch and throttle , lack of power , poor fuel economy , terrible gear change and many other issues relating to the ecu mapping of thisworst driving defender the company has ever made , This is my 14th landrover in 25yrs of driving and supporting the company , id like to think that this qualifies me as having a little experience in the product ( all comments accepted ) Yep , its a full and proper remap or nothing . Someone mentioned that its been done , if so wheres the big Q of unhappy 2.2 drivers . cheers

That shows how much JE knows then..... Bosch do not make the Puma ECU!
![]() JLR use Bosch for most other things, but not Defender. Ian IRB The home of the first modified Keswick Green 90 - and the first 2.4 Puma through both the 200bhp and 550Nm barriers. www.IRBdevelopments.com www.facebook.com/irbdevelopments www.integrated316.com www.facebook.com/integrated316 |

Well I would because I love mine. I agree with some of the comments on this thread but I've also found that the 2.2 has served all my needs and I've used the car in most environments. Enjoy your car |

I too have driven land rovers for some time, series, 101 3.5v8, 2.5 diesel, 300tdi, td5 and now a 2.2tdci. I think its pretty good, yes I would still like a 3.2tdci but I would not go back to any of the other Land Rover engines.
