Far from it - my first car was a Morris 1100 which was replaced by an Austin 1300. Great memories - but going back to early 70's.

Let's open a topic about our memories Very Happy
we had a new AUSTIN 1100 too, then at 1975 MINI 1.000cc ,at 1979 ford CORTINA 1,600cc.
Then we(my father) ''abandon'' UK for Carina toyota and now a star from Germany but i remain to UK with a ''english'' nissan micra and a Def(it is uk made Cool )
We bought them all new. Now mamazel wants a S MAX Tdci Big Cry .any opinions?

Now youve got me going! The 1100 & 1300 were follwed by an MGB GT which looked fantastic but needed so much care and attention, but as a 21 yr old in '76 it felt pretty cool to own one. Company cars then took over for many years mainly of german origin, until now when I have my 90 SWB SX. Smile 90 XS

ok, got my wheel off - replaced the indicator stalk....
But ...
how do I get it back on - straight ...!!! Embarassed
had numerous attempts and its still off set - is it just trial and error?

Has anyone got any info on where to get a steering wheel puller from for future use? Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

To align properly. Align the wheels up perfectly however the steering wheel is on then from there remove the steering wheel and then get it straight as you can Thumbs Up Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

There is a facility to lock the steering box in the straight-ahead position (a tapped hole to take a bolt). Lock the box then fit the wheel straight. Don't forget to remove the lock bolt before driving off.

just to say today was the first time I had chance to use the steering wheel puller, the wheel came off as easy as pie and no broken teeth!

This is the one I bought:
