I'd recommend Mal K9F personally but seeing as there is a fair distance between yourselves and indeed if he'd be willing too or be available to help I do not know? Other than that your probably best to take it to a qualified local indi rather than anything Mobile as I'd imagine you'd be paying through the roof for the call out alone. I would have thought the opposite in terms of cost, the mobile guy doesn't have the overheads of a shop based set up and you only generally pay 'call out' charges for emergency type occasions ...

^^^^ Your right I didn't think of that. Also depends how small or large the set up is I would imagine. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Steve, thanks for the recommendation. Ex-servicemen like me very rarely make a lot of money by following their trade and by becoming self-employed. I am too fussy and fastidious when it comes to installation as everything has to be perfect, thereby taking twice as long as another 'butcher' in it for the money.
If you do get a mobile in to carry it out my advice would be to take the day off and hovver about asking for an overview of the installation as he installs it. Any decent tradesman in my opinion would be only too glad to show off his technical accumen. You'll also know where everything is and how possibly to sort it yourself in the event of a failure. Thanks for the advice, who knows, I may look at doing this myself, I enjoy a challenge and I think the only major challenge of this is having the right terminals, tools and crimps etc to plug into the seats and the switches.
Anyone got any tips for that? 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Good source for electrical bits 'n' bobs and OEM switches that fit straight into the dash.
http://www.dingocroft.co.uk/acatalog/Electrical_Miscellany.html I do also use Halfords for wiring and electrical consumables. If you have a branch near you RS Components, not the cheapest but will get you what you want within 24 hours. Quite good for 'tooling!' http://uk.rs-online.com/web/ Do it yourself!!!! You'll do a better job, because... a). It's your truck and...b). Time is not an issue! There are always people here on hand to offer help and advice if you get stuck. Right move in my opinion! Brilliant, getting excited that I can do this now:
So, on Dingocroft's website, there is this picture of what I would need to plug into the back of the OE heated seat switches I have. Those silver terminals, do you need a special tool for crimping or insertion or just a standard crimping tool? I now need to find the connectors that will plug into the heated seats connectors. Right, been reading through loads of old threads on wiring up of heated seats and the concensus seems to be that you need to remove the LR connector from the seats and fit something else universal to save hassle and money, like this kit here:
The green connector above from Dingocroft fits into the back of the OEM switches so they are sorted. Then I need appropriate lengths of cable for the live feed, but in the right diameter, I read somewhere it needs to be CSA 2mm?? The bit that looks difficult is patching the live feed into fuse terminal 33, as you need special crimps or connectors etc. More help please! 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Looking at the Td5 wiring diagrams, the smallest diameter cable is 0.5mm^2 thinwall per seat.. I would wire up with 1mm^2 thinwall per seat.
Bear with me on this, but do you have electric windows? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

OK, trawled your photos and you don't. I wonder then whether you have the relay fitted for the heated seats and electric windows at all...
If you do, then you could remove the output wire from that (4mm^2 brown/grey) and replace it with a new supply, through a new 20A fuse, to the seat switches. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Have a look here especially the second page:
http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic8713-15.html This should give you a lot more info on what you need hopefully. Sorry I can't offer any more info as I haven't actually done heated seats wiring myself. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧 |

Martin, no elec windows but having looked at the fuse box on the Gbox tunnel, I think the relays are in place (big yellow blocks?)
Have seen and read that thread a few times, looks quite complex! 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

It's the fuse part that looks the trickiest, inserting some terminals into the fuse block etc. Very Fiddly. I guess even if it takes me all day it's worth it. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |
