Electric window
Right guys....drivers side electric window has stopped working...passenger side works fine....
are they fused separately ? or is there something else that could have caused it ? NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

Right Karlos,

Fuse 15.... 5amps is the supply fuse to BOTH front windows.....

This supply is fed through two independant fuses for the front windows FUSE 34....20 amp for the driver's side...

FUSE 35....20 amp for the passenger's....

Each fuse supply then goes through their respective up/down selector switches to the motors....

Check the fuses first, if no go swap the switches over to see if the fault transfers.

If still no go would suspect an open circuit in the door umbillical (coloured wires red, blue and black (earth)) but you would need a multimeter to confirm the latter.

*EDIT* Again....There are other fuses in the system but as it is only happening on one side these can be discounted at this stage.

Good luck Buddy.... Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Once again astounding electrical advice from Mal. Thumbs Up I wouldn't mind betting it's a switch but we'll see. I have never taken the door card off so never seen the set up behind there? Would be interesting to see. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Why would a 5 Amp fuse feed to 20 Amp ones? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Kona,

Easy to take the door card off...Not so easy getting the inner plastic sheet off in one piece as they use a bead of the stickiest, gooiest Censored I've ever come acroos to stick it. Like black chewing gum it is.

Trying to keep it simple. Supply relay fuse...same set up you should have if you fit auxilliary lights. Thumbs Up

Ignition supplies relay 5 amp fuse, pulls in relay, contacts of relay supply through 20 amp fuses window motors. Thumbs Up

In this case 3 amp feeds 20/25 amp...

Talking to someone who drives a VW van. He said that if it rains and he has a window down he is unable to get the window to go up again. This is due to where the switch is placed on the trim. If it gets wet at all the connections are knackeded. He had to remove the switch one evening and dry it with a hairdryer then refit it to get the window to go up. Seems that replacement switches are a big part of the warranty work. This came to light when we found out that our next lot of vans at work will be VW. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

I've got some pics somewhere and will attempt to find them but believe me the inside of the door isn't very exciting...
