I wish I knew, it was done before I bought the car and I never asked the question. Goes really well tho considering it's done 200k miles. Still have old ecu msb type makes massive difference when I put it on just to try. It did not stay on for long lol.

I personally like the look of the attic boxes where you can switch between 3 different maps. Thumbs Up

Early Td5's, like yours at 1999, should have had the non-flashable ECU's (and usually 10P engines), although like you say, yours has the ,ater NNN ECU which can be swapped in place of the non flash type (i think that the early ECU is no longer available anyway thesedays.)

Again, i think, that the 15P engine and flashable ECU came in about 2002 when the dash was upgraded slightly with the center switch panel.

Mine's running 195BHP, from IRB, with a VGT turbo.

Pulls exceptionally well, doesn't smoke too much (passes the MoT anyway), and the temp guage never seems to move up when gunning it up steep hills.

as Jamie said, 99 Td5 is non flashable if std ECU.

stick to less than 200bhp for reliability. Cheers

get another turbo manifold and get it skimmed steve. that'll be the first thing to play up. Guess you have removed the EGR, the cat..if its got one and the mid box.

Is it manual?
