Anti Roll Bars
Has anyone fitted up-rated ARBs to assist with normal road driving to reduce roll? If so; any recommendations? BM52

I'd personally keep the standard front ARB - but use uprated mounts (SuperPro are my chosen option), but I would upgrade to a thicker uprated rear bar - again with uprated mounts.

I have also played around with solid ARB mounts, which make a huge difference even with standard bars - but aren't really suitable for road use.

You'd be more than welcome to come and drive my Puma Demonstrator.

Depending on your driving style, there are a few other options....

Hi Porny and thanks for the advice.

I think you have summed up my thoughts, it's the back that seems to roll more. I have been thinking about this for a while. I don't drive aggressively but i don't dawdle either. I think the springs, standard LR road springs, are probably fine for me as well so I think I will find a stiffer rear ARB and take your advice on the Super Pro bushes.

Cheers BM52

Old thread resurrection:

Anyone recommend a uprated rear roll bar for a 110? I've seen the 28mm offerings from Terrafirma and Extreme 4x4x and wanted to hear people's experiences of them or if there are any others.

I have a 90 and bought an uprated rear ARB plus SuperPro bushes [from a D2 sponsor] and it has made a big difference. Corner with confidence, no issues off road and whent fitted with quality dampers [Koni for me] I think it makes sense. I do a lot of road miles from motorways to B roads and at all times the 90 feels planted and secure with some body roll but much improved from standard. BM52

I have got the biggest anti roll bar that Extream (Scorpion) do along with heavy duty springs the back end of my 90 does not move well planted, but remember it is fully loaded all the time. Also you have to change the bush mounting plates to accept larger bushes and bush retainers.

What about the X-Eng X-deflex rear anti roll bar? Possibly the best of both worlds....

I've now got a standard ARB on the front and Extreme 4x4 1" ARB on the rear.

Neither were fitted when I got the truck and the effect is greatly to reduce body roll, especially when overtaking when you can have relatively quick changes of direction.

As I've said before, the torque settings for the three fixings make a huge difference to the ride.

Per the Haynes manual (68, 40, 30 Nm?) is quite relaxed but do them all up f tight as did the bloke who changed my fuel pump, and it's almost undriveable. 2003 Td5 110 Hardtop
Now a 2013 110 USW too.
