Swivel help
Hi guys. 

Really enjoying the 90 so far, done a full service and all is well.

However ....... Both swivels are leaking abit and the off-side ball isn't pitted but it is fairly corroded. I want replace these sometime over the summer. I have searched swivel replacement and found good guides and videos. 

My main question is which parts should I buy as replacement. Current thinking would be Britpart swivel Kit (I know s**tpart), timken wheel bearing kit and then get some genuine swivel oil seals. Does this seem sensible? If anybody has links of the best places to get these parts it would be very helpful! My Defender is 2004 TD5.

It may be cheaper and less time consuming to get a 2nd hand front axle ???? Thumbs Up

I did exactly what you said when I was doing my rebuild, a few motnhs back.

Bought the Britpart kit, as I figured the ball would be ok, and all the gaskets are expensive separately.

I then bought a load of OE (Corteco) seals.

All these were from paddocks.

I then bought Timken bearings. Paddocks didn't do those ones then (might now), think I got them off ebay.

I didn't want to attempt doing mine for my Series, so it was easier/cheaper to buy a new old stock from John Richards for £250! I know a guy who was charged £900 to recon his Series front axle Shocked Lovley old 1971 109 SW, had it from new Bow down
