Had my defender underbody stripped, proofed and repainted by a guy on Anglesey for £200. Check it out! http://gallery.me.com/synergy.yachting#100268

He used galvanising paint on the nuts and threads and then used a non-porous 'slippery' gloss coat -some special stuff they use to preserve vintage and classic cars.

Interesting haven't seen this method used, clean it all off underneath, paint the nuts with zinc paint then spray some kind of gloss covering all over it. Would be interesting to find out what the coating is. Maybe something similar to the tyre spray you put on tyres to make them shiny, something oil based anyway. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts, keep us posted. Thumbs Up

Did he use a rust converter to stop the existing rust and treat the inside of the chassis also?

What did he use - looks like a clear coat of some kind. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc]
