Stereo help please...
I'm wanting to replace the standard Land Rover CD player (with 3.5mm jack) with a Parrot Asteroid.

I've been told I need an adapter. Which one depends on wether the Land rover harness ends with flat pins, or round. Can anyone tell me which it is?

And does anyone have a Parrot Asteroid? I'd love to hear opinions.

Cheers

James

Sounds flippant I know but why not just slip it out and have a look? From memory they are flat but I can't be 100%.

I haven't because I don't have the right tools - and my local Halfords haven't got any. Is there something I can make up to slip it out?

I wouldn't try a home made way of getting it out been there tried that and failed! Ebay would be good and cheap. you just need a two pronged realease keys. should be very cheap. For memory pins are flat Thumbs Up

hi haworthj

I had a standard LR (with jack) radio/cd and replaced with CD, nothing required - straight swap

the only thing you have to do is remove little metal flanges on the left and right of the standard radio/cd apature / hole... you'll see what I mean when you take the radio out

make sure you flash the unit... I have my leads all routed through to the dash-top glove box ... no drilling required.

Asteroids - they take a little while to master but are great units Thumbs Up

The stereo plug on all the Defender are ISO (International Organisation for Standardization). This means it falls in line with all main car stereo manufacturers.

You will find that all major car stereo companies' products will plug straight in.

Sometimes the +12 accessory and +12v Perm lines are swapped... You'll soon know when you turn the radio off.. ... ,-------,

If that's the case, what colour wires will I have to swap over?

Cheers

I too have an Asteroid. 'Plug and play' no wires to swap whatsoever.

Not sure what the wire colours will be, but they are A4 and A7 on the plug...
