Puma Air Filters?
Does anyone have any experience/recommendations of aftermarket air filters for the 2.4 puma and whether they help with performance or fuel economy?

I fitted K&N for years and if overoiled ruin the MAFF sensor at £70 a pop and noticed no difference to performance or economy. I fitted an ITG to my Puma and took it out after a month when i read that the standard filter can cope with demands of ten times the airflow required so i went back to standard. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

One of the AULRO members did a test on standard LR filters, (300TDi and V8 ), vs K&N filters a few years ago, whilst the flow rates were good for the K&N it's ability to filter dust were not so great.

Any change a 'performance' air filter makes to mpg and power is so negligible that you won't notice any difference in real world terms.

Some think its quicker simply because induction noise increase fools them into believing so.

It's really down to personal choice, i have one in mine [Pipercross] but simply so i can just whip it out, wash it off and refit. Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.
